Destin Fishing Rodeo - All Month Long
Destin Boardwalk
- Date: 10/31/2026
- Starts: 10am
- Ends: 7pm
October brings more than beach days to Destin—it brings a month of fishing excitement along the harbor! The Destin Fishing Rodeo runs October 1–31, welcoming anglers and spectators for a celebration of the area’s fishing heritage. Established in 1948, this longtime tradition celebrates its 78th year in 2026, giving visitors another reason to explore the “World’s Luckiest Fishing Village.”
Watch the Catches Come In
You don’t need a fishing rod to enjoy the Rodeo! Daily weigh-ins are free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the docks behind AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar on Destin Harbor. Gather around the scales as anglers bring in their catches, snap photos, and share in the excitement. Seeing a big tuna or grouper up close can be a memorable part of the trip for kids and adults alike.
Get in on the Fishing Action
Want to compete? Booking a trip aboard a Rodeo-registered charter boat is one way to participate. Anglers aboard registered vessels do not pay a separate Rodeo entry fee, although charter trip costs still apply. Private and charter boats must register at least 24 hours before weighing a fish. Check the official Destin Fishing Rodeo website for registered boats, current rules, and participation details before heading out.
