Prominence is one of the most popular communities on 30A and features incredible amenities, open green spaces and easy access to over 17 miles of bike paths. Prominence is centrally located to new and long time 30A haunts as well as the beautiful white beaches of Scenic 30A. Guests will enjoy a beautiful town center, 2 resort style pools and more.

Located at the town center, the Big Chill (formerly The Hub) is a hot-spot for entertainment and features an outdoor 25 ft LED theater screen for sporting events and movie nights on the green. Concerts, family activities, restaurants, and boutique shops are just some of the things to do within a less than 5 minute walk.

Golf Carts & Bikes

Golf cart and bikes at Prominence on 30A

Most units come with a golf cart and include bikes. If a home does not come with a golf cart, Prominence will allow the rental of street-legal golf carts for guest use through an exclusive provider, 30A Gulf Carts.   • Check featured amenities on your unit page to see if your rental comes with a golf cart
  • A golf cart waiver is required to be signed in order to receive your keys

Golf Cart Laws: Driver's license required, permitted on 35 MPH or less roads, all passengers must be restrained, drive sober, no open containers, no texting, no parking on the streets or pathways, no driving on utility path. Children or anyone without a valid driver's license are not allowed to drive golf carts and there are fines for violations of this rule.

Parking

Parking at Prominence 30A
Only park on the driveway of the unit/property you rent. Guest’s risk being towed if not on their assigned drive. Parking is available around grassy area at The Big Chill (formerly known as The Hub). Street parking is not allowed in the triplex side.

  • Overflow parking is available in Prominence South in the gravel parking spots on Pleasant and Clipper streets. No overnight parking at the pool.

Beach Access

Walton County Beach Access Options - Prominence
  • Deer Lake State Park (long boardwalk with stairs & ramps) – .7 miles away, 5-minute golf cart ride & about a 7-minute walk down the boardwalk to the beach (not great for elderly). Parking for cars and golf carts, approx. $3 per car/golf cart and $2 per bike (subject to change). Get there early, as there is limited parking, and they will close the entrance once full. No beach service is provided here. --Video--
  • Walton Dunes (no stairs or ramp, walk right up to beach) – 2.5 miles down the road, take a left at Lakewood Drive and follow the curve until you see the parking lot for cars/golf carts. Beach service is provided here, but no other amenities. -Video--
  • Santa Clara (ramp, no stairs) – 3.5 miles from Prominence. Includes parking, restrooms, beach service, and lifeguards during peak season. Located on Scenic 30A, 1/2 mile east of Scenic 395, turn south on Bramble Grove Place. 
  • Gulf Lakes (stairs, no ramps) - .5 miles to the east of Prominence with bike parking, fresh water shower, and beach service. No restrooms. No car parking. --Video--

Regional beach access points have vehicle parking, rest rooms, ADA ramps and accessibility. Neighborhood beach access points have limited vehicle parking and few or no ramps or rest rooms.

Beach Tents & Fires
Tents/canopies up to 10' x 10' are allowed during daytime hours on public beaches. 

Beach chair service and bonfire vendors can be found here: South Walton Beach Chair Association. These vendors can also rent paddleboards, kayaks, and other water equipment.

Call SoWal Fire District at 850-267-1298 to obtain a permit and learn about guidelines for having a bonfire on the beach.
